Store suffers sales slump

The Edinburgh branch of John Lewis has suffered another slump in sales.

The St James Centre store saw sales decline by three per cent in the week to February 11.

It followed a reduction in sales in the first week of its financial year that now puts sales 4.9 per cent lower than the equivalent period of last year.

Across the UK, John Lewis enjoyed a 4.1 per cent increase in sales during the week, up to £52.3 million.
