Store duo cleared over weapons charge

THE owner and director of the Victor Morris knife and gun shop in Glasgow have been cleared of selling prohibited weapons.

Martin Morris and Thomas McAteer were accused of selling nanchucks, used in martial arts, at the store on Argyle Street, in August last year. They had been on trial at Glasgow Sheriff Court for almost two weeks, but Sheriff John McCormick has accepted a "no case to answer" submission.
