Store appeals fence refusal

SUPERMARKET giant Sainsbury's has teamed up with residents in a bid to overturn a council planning decision.

The firm wanted to build a fence at the boundary of the Gorgie Road entrance to its Westfield store in order to stop shoppers parking at Westfield Street when using the store.

Its planning application was rejected but it has now asked for a review of the decision.

Since the application was rejected, 60 residents of Westfield Street have signed a petition backing the plans.
