Stone hearts baffle experts

A SERIES of tiny hearts, carefully carved into the stonework of an ancient Scottish castle, has left experts completely baffled.

The intricate graffiti is almost certain to have been the work of the mason responsible for the decorative stonework – but experts are wondering whether it could be the work of a female master mason.

The unique marks were discovered during a survey of the ruins of 16th Century Burgie Castle, three miles east of Forres.
