Stirling Gin Festival to host second date

Stirling Gin Festival has added a second date to its 2016 calendar to satisfy demand.

The Stirling Whisky Shop-organised festival will be held over November 4 and 5, at Stirling Highland Hotel.

Saturday 5 November is already a sellout, with all 350 tickets spoken for within less than a week.

Event organisers June and Cameron McCann said: “We are looking forward to welcoming even more gin drinkers who will have an excellent range of top quality tipples to sample.

“We started out only selling whisky in the shop, but over the years we have seen a boom in gin sales and now stock over 50 different gins from distilleries around the globe.

“Exhibiting this year will be some of the brands that have supported the festival from the beginning alongside a great variety of new gin companies including the recently-launched Stirling Gin.”

Cameron also runs the Stirling Whisky Festival held in May each year, with both bringing a surge in visitor numbers and revenue to Stirling and its surrounding areas.

He said: “Stirling Whisky Shop has definitely put the city of Stirling on the map for drinks festivals. We are proud to be attracting even more people through our events to sample the wonderful delights in Stirling, the heart of Scotland.”

This year’s event will see 30 companies provide over 50 gins to sample. The inaugural Stirling Gin Festival was held in November 2014, with over 230 people attending the event.

Tickets for this year’s event can be purchased from the Stirling Gin Festival website.
