Stephen takes seat in House of Lords

FORMER deputy first minister of Scotland Nicol Stephen took his seat in the House of Lords yesterday as a Liberal Democrat peer.

Lord Stephen was briefly an MP in the early 1990s and has been a member of the Scottish Parliament since 1999. He served as deputy first minister from 2005 -7 and as Scottish Lib-Dem leader from 2005-8.
