Stephanie is top draw at art gallery

The work of Telford College's first Artist in Residence will be displayed at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) next month.

Stephanie Cairns, a former Telford student who went on to graduate from the Edinburgh College of Art last summer, has been developing her work to be displayed at the gallery in Glasgow.

The Artist in Residence programme gives recently-graduated professional artists such as Stephanie dedicated studio space within the college's art and design department, as well as resources and facilities.

GOMA's curator Lauren Rigby, who visited Stephanie's studio last week, said: "We, Scottish National GOMA and The Trustees of the John Watson Prize, are delighted to be presenting Stephanie Cairns' new work. We are sure that it has been invaluable for Stephanie to have access to the studio space and facilities available to her as Artist in Residence."
