Stealing into book shortlist

CAPITAL author Philip Kerr has made the shortlist for the first ever Scottish Crime Book of the Year award.

He is nominated for his novel Prague Fatale and is joined by Charles Cumming for A Foreign Country, Craig Russell for Dead Men & Broken Hearts, Denise Mina for Gods & Beasts, Peter May for The Lewis Man and Will Jordan for Redemption.

Judges, including broadcaster and journalist Sheena McDonald, Waterstone’s crime fiction expert Ewan Wilson and Len Wanner, author of The Crime Interviews, will decide the winner of a trophy and a £3000 cheque, to be handed out during the Bloody Scotland crime writing festival, in Stirling on September 16.
