Stars give sectarianism the boot

HEARTS legend Gary Mackay and former Hibs star Mickey Weir are uniting in a bid to kick sectarianism out of Scottish football.

The two ex-players will be joined by former Rangers midfielder Derek Ferguson as part of a panel discussion at the Show Bigotry the Red Card event.

Part of the Show Racism the Red Card campaign, the event takes place at the home of Spartans FC on November 18 from 6.30pm.

Organisers said the main aim of the evening was to promote debate on the issue of sectarianism throughout Scottish football through the viewing of a new DVD entitled Rivals not Enemies.

The showing of the film will be followed by a question and answer session with the panel of experts.

The event is free and food and refreshments will be available during the course of the evening.
