Stars do their bit for Africa

A BOB Marley song and the social media power of celebrities such as Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Eminem is being harnessed to help the crisis in East Africa.

The "I'm Gonna Be Your Friend" campaign aims to raise awareness of the disaster, which has left about ten million suffering through a famine in Somalia due to a blistering drought.

A film about the crisis was set to the Bob Marley and the Wailers song High Tide or Low Tide. It will be sold on iTunes and various stars have pledged to promote it online. Money raised will go to Save the Children.
