Stalemate goes on in coalition talks

Belgium's finance minister ended a mediation mission yesterday with no sign of a breakthrough in efforts to restart stalled coalition talks, prolonging more than eight months of political deadlock.

A statement from the royal palace said Didier Reynders had presented a report to King Albert, without saying what the next step would be.
