Staff escape factory blaze

A FOOD processing plant on the outskirts of Edinburgh had to be evacuated after a fire broke out.

Fire crews were called to the industrial plant close to the city airport at Ingliston after the blaze was found on the second floor at around midday.

All staff escaped to safety and four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the building and extinguished the blaze.

It is not thought the damage to the plant was serious.
