Stab victim distracted by teenage boy

A MAN was stabbed in the leg outside a city pub while being distracted by a teenage boy.

The 20-year-old victim was attacked outside the Artful Dodger pub at the Sighthill Shopping Centre sometime between 10:40pm and 11:05pm on Friday.

He had been speaking with a teenager when he was approached from behind and stabbed in the upper leg by an unknown assailant.

Both the attacker and the teenager ran off together.

It is not known if the victim had been deliberately targeted.

The teenager is described as being around 17 years old, 6ft tall, of stocky build, with brown hair. He was wearing a dark tracksuit.

A police spokesman said: "This was a serious attack, which resulted in the victim requiring hospital treatment.

"Anyone who was in the area of the Artful Dodger pub or Sighthill Shopping Centre around the time of the incident, who either saw what happened or noticed two youths running from the scene, should contact police immediately.
