St Margaret's tops poll to win £15,000

A CITY playground is set to unveil the results of a £15,000 makeover after earning a grant as part of Robinsons Fruit Shoot's drive to protect outdoor play.

St Margaret's Park in Corstorphine came out top of more than 1,000 nominations from across the UK and it will show off its new look tomorrow.

Local mum of one, Angie Dickson, who nominated the playground and encouraged the surrounding community to vote, said: "I can't believe we are finally going to see the newly renovated playground - it's so exciting. It will be emotional to see the result of all the hard work that has gone in over the last few months. My daughter can't wait to test out the new equipment and it's great that it has been completed in time for the school holidays. Thank you, Robinsons Fruit Shoot - this really is going to make such a difference to the community."
