St Andrews students play midnight ‘street cricket’
WHEN they’re not traipsing round the town in their distinctive red gowns, or visiting the statue of the late town cat Hamish, St Andrews students seemingly indulge in midnight sporting events.
This picture, posted to the Overheard in St Andrews Facebook page, shows a group of students playing cricket on the town’s South Street.
With over 1200 likes, the photo has been causing a stir in the Fife town.
One person commented: “This is just daft field placing. No one square of the wicket on the leg-side!” while another pointed out: “Potential major window damage!”
