Spectator killed in air show tragedy

AT LEAST one spectator was killed when a propeller-powered biplane ploughed into a crowd at an air show in southern Germany yesterday.

A police spokesman from the city of Nuremberg said the plane veered off the runway into the crowd when trying to take off.

Another 20 people were injured, including five seriously. The pilot's condition remained unknown last night.
