Songs net ban for Hearts fan

A HEARTS fan has been banned from Tynecastle after singing sectarian songs to Hibs supporters.

Moray Laurie, 29, was "celebrating" his team's 1-0 home victory in last month's derby when he was overheard by police.

Laurie, of Bughtlin Loan, pleaded guilty at Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday to causing a breach of the peace and was fined 400 by Sheriff Fiona Leith.

The court heard that officials at Tynecastle had revoked his season ticket and banned him.

A Hearts spokesman said: "We will take action against any individuals who breach the club's acceptable behaviour standards."
