Solo pilot killed in light aircraft crash

AN INVESTIGATION was under way yesterday after a light aircraft crashed in West Yorkshire, killing the pilot.

Police said the 31-year-old was the only person aboard the plane, which came down in a field next to the River Aire near Castleford on Saturday afternoon.
