Solicitor spends night in cells wearing pyjamas

A TRAINEE solicitor spent the night behind bars in her pyjamas after being arrested in connection with a suspected drunken late night car crash.

Sarah Rennie, 27, appeared at Perth Sheriff Court yesterday charged with driving while more than double the legal alcohol limit. She was wearing pyjamas when arrested late on Thursday at the scene of a single vehicle crash on the A827 Logierait to Grandtully road in Perthshire.

Rennie, of Dunkeld, faced a charge of driving with a breath alcohol reading of 79 mics.

She spent several hours in police cells wearing her nightclothes until her mother turned up with a suit. She was allowed to change before appearing in court. She was freed on bail.
