Soldiers stage leaving march

Around 450 soldiers from 1st Battalion, The Royal  Regiment of Scotland  (1 SCOTS) will take part in a farewell parade and church service, ahead of deployment to Afghanistan, on Friday at  Colinton Parish Church.

The battalion will march from its permanent base at Dreghorn Barracks to Colinton Church. This will be the soldiers’ last public display before beginning a six-month operational tour in the Helmand province of Afghanistan.
