Soldiers’ city homecoming

Soldiers from the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards are to take part in a homecoming parade in the Capital tomorrow.

The regiment deployed to Afghanistan in February as part of Operation Herrick and returned earlier this month.

During their tour the four squadrons carried out a range of tasks, with one helping to train the Afghan National Army while another manned Warthog armoured vehicles.

The regiment will parade through Edinburgh, starting at the Castle Esplanade at 11.30am and proceeding to Canongate Kirk.
