Soldier killed by an IED in Afghanistan

A BRITISH soldier has been killed by an explosion in southern Afghanistan, the Ministry of Defence has confirmed, bringing the death toll to 379.

The soldier, from 1st Battalion The Rifles, was killed by an improvised explosive device while on foot patrol on Friday in the Helmand Province.
