Sob-story con man hunted

POLICE are hunting a smooth-talking con man suspected of duping travellers in Edinburgh out of cash with convincing sob stories.

Neil Rodgers, 41, is suspected of targeting victims at airports and railway stations over the last two years with a series of fake hard luck tales.

He approaches travellers and tells them he has run out of money but urgently needs to get home for a heart-rending reason.

Detectives in the Capital want to quiz Rodgers over a string of incidents in the city.

Police officers in London, Surrey, and the Thames Valley also want to talk to Rodgers about similar offences.
