Snowboarder is above par

A SNOWBOARDING enthusiast completed a charity challenge on Saturday at Braid Hills Golf Course, raising more than £3,000 for the Alzheimer's Society.

Jason Kenney, 39, took under four hours to complete a snowboarding and hiking trip that covered a total distance of 20.9km and a climb of 1,380m – 26m higher than Ben Nevis.

Mr Kenney said: "I'm not into the usual marathons, and after some good runs down the hills I thought the challenge would be a great way to start 2010."

Mr Kenney set a fundraising target of 100 but has been inundated with support, including 1,500 from his employer ING, and the total is continuing to grow.
