Snow: How you're affected

Roads were expected to be icy again this morning following overnight temperatures of one or two degrees.

Today is expected to be misty and overcast with temperatures as high as five degrees.

Tonight will be clear with temperatures falling to around three degrees and Saturday is expected to be dry and bright with temperatures up to five degrees.

Schools

All secondary schools are set to open for S1-6 on Friday, except Liberton High - which is only open to S3-S6 pupils. All primary schools will be closed, except for Murrayburn Primary.

All special schools will open as normal and all community Centres will be open, except Kirkliston.

Refuse

The council is introducing up to 70 temporary bin skips sited across the city in public locations. Residents are also being advised to put excess household refuse in their brown garden waste bin.

Flooding

Scottish Water said it had seen a significant increase in the number of calls it had received as the thaw leads to burst pipes.
