Snow boost for ski centre

THE wintry weather brought a boost to the Midlothian Snowsports Centre, new figures have revealed.

The Hillend centre, managed by Midlothian Council, saw takings treble on selected weekends as enthusiasts took advantage of the heavy snowfall.

On the first weekend following the arrival of snow in late November, takings doubled compared to the same week last year. And the following weekend's takings trebled on the same week of 2009.
