Snow alert for Lothians

The Met Office has issued yellow warnings for snow for parts of Scotland today.

It said that Lothian and Borders was likely to be affected by sleet and snow, warning that accumulations of between two and five centimetres were likely, mainly on ground above 150 metres, with 10cm on roads above 300 metres.

Transport Minister Keith Brown MSP said: “Transport Scotland, Traffic Scotland and our resilience team are in contact with the Met Office, police, road operating companies and rail operators to ensure that adequate preparations are in place.”
