Smoked salmon worth thousands of pounds stolen from Moray fish processing plant

SMOKED salmon worth thousands of pounds has been stolen in a break in at a fish processing plant in Moray.

The premium salmon was stolen between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning at the premises of Cluny Fish in Low Street, Buckie.

A spokesman for Grampian Police said: “The incident occurred between 10 pm on Tuesday and 7 am on Wednesday. Premium quality smoked salmon was stolen which is valued at thousands of pounds.

“All of the salmon was in clear vacuum packs however, some of it was in distinctive ‘Shetland Smokehouse Gravadlax’ packaging, which is produced mainly for export and is not readily available in the local area.”

He added: “If anyone is offered salmon for sale or has any information regarding the crime please contact Grampian Police”
