Skull find ‘not suspicious’

THE discovery of a human skull on the world’s oldest golf course is not being treated as suspicious after early investigations revealed it was around 2500 years old.

Council workers uncovered the remains while carrying out winter maintenance work on a bunker on Musselburgh Links Golf Course, in East Lothian, on Tuesday.

But the bones were found to be “archaeological” and have been sent to Dundee University to be examined.
