Skills scheme is big winner

more than 1800 people in Edinburgh have joined Skills Development Scotland's training programmes for the first half of 2010-11.

The body runs national training programmes including Modern Apprenticeships and Get Ready for Work, and says it is exceeding targets to get more keen learners on board.

Chief executive Damien Yeates said: "SDS has already delivered 65 per cent of this year's annual target for Modern Apprenticeship starts."
