Skiff set for launch party

A NEW coastal rowing skiff will be launched at Portobello on Sunday. The boat will be carried along the prom from Joppa to Bath Street at noon, and on to the beach for a naming ceremony and celebrations.

The boat has been built by members of RowPorty, which is part of the Portobello Sailing and Kayaking Club.

She will be launched at high tide, joining her sister skiff Icebreaker on the water, along with several other vessels.

The launch ceremony will include music and entertainment, and all are welcome to attend.
