Officers had warned people not to attend the rave planned last night in two locations in West Lothian on safety grounds but said “several hundred” people turned up despite the appeal.

Police said five men and a woman were arrested and charged with a number of offences - including breach of the peace, assault on an officer and drugs offences - after a disturbance.

“We issued a warning asking people not to turn up but some did. Six people have now been charged, including one female, for assaulting an officer.”
