Sir Chris Hoy and wife Sarra bring baby son home

OLYMPIC cycle champion Sir Chris Hoy’s baby boy, who was born 11 weeks early, has been allowed home from hospital in time for Christmas.

Callum David Robert Hoy arrived prematurely on 15 October and has been in hospital since. Yesterday, his sport star father tweeted: “Well @SarraHoy and I received an early Xmas present this week, wee Callum is finally home.

“Thanks so much for all the kind messages of support and thanks to everyone in the neonatal wards who helped him on his way.

“Still a long way to go but it’s great to have him home!”

Shortly afterwards he posted a photo of Callum with his eyes closed and hands clasped. Sir Chris said: “He may only be tiny but in this pose I can’t help but feel he looks like he’s hatching a plot for world domination!”

New mum Sarra tweeted her thanks to hospital staff, saying: “Our little miracle, always one step ahead of us! Huge thanks to nursing staff who cared for Callum in ICU, HDU and, finally, special care.”

Those sending their congratulations included double Olympic and world champion Laura Trott, who tweeted: “Yayy!!! So happy for both of you. First Xmas at home.”

Six-time Olympic gold medallist Sir Chris now competes in motorsport.
