Signs good for new Forth crossing

TRANSPORT chiefs have announced the winner of a £13 million contract to help manage traffic along the route of the new Forth crossing.

John Graham (Dromore) will deliver the Intelligent Transport System (ITS) in Fife for the 1.7 billion bridge. The contract covers the Fife section of a 14-mile ITS corridor, from the M9 Junction 1 at Newbridge to the M90 Junction 3 at Halbeath.

The system will aim to regulate traffic through overhead signal gantries and provide motorists with up-to-the-minute information through variable message signs.
