Signalling fault causes delays for rush hour commuters

Passengers were subjected to significant delays this morning due to a signalling fault between Haymarket and Edinburgh Park.

As a result of the fault a number of services faced cancellation or significant delays.

Edinburgh – Glasgow services via Falkirk High are operating half hourly. leaving Edinburgh at quarter past and quarter to the hour. Despite the issue being resolved, the half hour services will remain until operations are once again up and running.

Scotrail confirmed that their engineers were on site to resolve the issue.

Passengers were able to use train tickets on Lothian Buses and Edinburgh Trams between Edinburgh Park and Haymarket.

During the delay, Helensburgh – Edinburgh services will terminate at Bathgate with Edinburgh – Milngavie services will start from Bathgate.
