Sick Kids say for patients and relatives

A FORUM of patients and relatives is to have its say on the future of the new Sick Kids hospital next week.

It is the first meeting organised by NHS Lothian which will allow hospital users to influence various aspects of the 150 million facility.

They will be able to ask managers questions about the plans, and see early drawings of how the Little France structure will look when it opens in the summer of 2014.

The family forum meeting will take place on October 7 from 6pm.

Chairwoman of the family council at the hospital, Tracy Rendall, said: "When a child is admitted to the Sick Kids, families can find themselves spending a lot of time in the hospital.

"The Family Forum is designed to allow relatives to share their valuable experience with each other and with hospital management to make real improvements to the facilities on offer."
