Shot robber's death 'was lawful killing'

AN ARMED robber shot dead by a police marksman was lawfully killed, an inquest found yesterday.

Robert Haines, 41, was killed by an undercover officer during a raid at a building society in Kent. Haines died of multiple gunshot wounds after firing a sawn-off shotgun as armed officers tried to arrest him.
