Shoppers to do more cooking

More than 42 per cent of shoppers plan to do more cooking from scratch over the next six months to cut their grocery bills, according to a survey.

More than a quarter (28 per cent) said they would grow their own fruit and vegetables, while 29 per cent are aiming to make more packed lunches.

The research by food and grocery analysts IGD found that age can affect the desire to grow your own food, with 38 per cent of people between 25 and 34 planning to do so, compared with 22 per cent of those over 65.
