Shopkeepers in age vow

SIX shopkeepers in the Lothians have become the first in Scotland to be accredited under a new scheme aimed at preventing youngsters getting hold of alcohol and other age-restricted goods.

The retailers in Armadale in West Lothian have been recognised under the Safer Retailers Initiative.

Chief Inspector Jeff White said: "This scheme in Armadale has been about getting in early and working with responsible retailers to control the supply at source."
