Shooting police in letter appeal

POLICE have written to 3000 members of a city gym as part of an investigation into the shooting of a man three weeks ago.

Detectives have made the appeal after Robert Kelbie, 27, was shot in the car park of Bannatyne's Health Club in Newcraighall on October 20.

Police have urged anyone who saw a grey or silver Vauxhall Vectra in the car park or later on West Bryson Road to come forward.

Detective Chief Inspector Richard Thomas, who is leading the investigation said: "Both the cafe and fitness suite have windows that look on to the car park and there is a good chance someone who was exercising or having a refreshment will have seen something.

"It is to those individuals that I direct this appeal and would urge everyone to think back to the night of the shooting. Did you see a grey or silver Vauxhall Vectra in the car park? Can you remember anything about the driver? If so please come forward to police immediately."
