'Sherlock violin' to make debut at fundraiser

A CONCERT featuring a violin created to mark the 150th birthday of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle will be staged by Edinburgh World Heritage later this month.

The "Sherlock Violin", created by instrument maker Steve Burnett, was made from an elderly sycamore tree that stood in the garden of Liberton Bank House, Conan Doyle's childhood home.

The fundraising concert will be held at 5 Charlotte Square on Thursday, 25 February from 7pm.
