Sheltered homes plan

PLANS for sheltered housing and three shops at Inglis Green Road are set to get the go-ahead.

Longstone Retail has submitted the plans for a development for older people and three retail units opposite the Water of Leith.

The development will replace the existing shops and the Longstone Centre.

It will feature 63 one and two-bed sheltered housing flats, while the retail units will total 520 square metres.

It will be spread over three blocks, with the main block facing Inglis Green Road being four storeys tall.

A second four-storey block will overlook Redhall Crescent, with a third three storey block on the corner of Redhall Crescent and Redhall Avenue.

Councillors will make a decision on Wednesday.
