Severance deal secret till next June

Details of a severance deal awarded to former tram boss Richard Jeffrey will not be revealed until next summer, the city’s transport leader has confirmed.

Councillor Gordon Mackenzie has said that the remuneration details for the former TIE chief executive will not be made public until the city council’s annual accounts for the 2011/12 financial year are published in June 2012.

His comments came in answer to a question lodged by Cllr Lesley Hinds, transport spokeswoman for the Labour group on the council.

Cllr Mackenzie said: “The council’s 2011/12 unaudited statement of accounts will be presented in June 2012 and will include information covering TIE employees who have left the company.”
