Seven rare owls found in Highlands

The winter roosting spot of a number of rarely seen owls has been spotted in the Highlands.

The seven short-eared owls, so rare they are on the Amber List of endangered species, were discovered by a group of students in Kintail. The birds' nocturnal habits, nomadic lifestyle and remote habitat, make them among the most under-recorded in Scotland.
