Brodkin, dressed as his ‘rich young footballer’ alter-ego Jason Bent, threw a large stack of fake money at the visibly startled Blatter, before being escorted away by security.
The 38-year-old Brodkin wrote on the Jason Bent twitter account: “Excited to be at FIFA meeting Sepp Blatter to secure the #NorthKorea2026 World Cup.” Sepp Blatter left the stage after the prank, saying ‘this has nothing to do with football’ before returning to talk about FIFA’s corruption charges and his post-administration career as a radio DJ.
Simon Brodkin has previously sought internet fame by invading the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury during Kanye West’s headline set, as well as attempting to board the plane to Brazil with the England football team before the 2014 World Cup.
