Senior cop Liddle takes up anti-terror role
THE head of CID at Lothian and Borders Police has been appointed as a national anti-terror chief.
Assistant Chief Constable Ronnie Liddle takes over the role of counter-terrorism co-ordinator following the retirement of ACC Colin McCashey.
ACC Liddle has also served as commander in West Lothian and deputy commander in Edinburgh as well as undertaking a secondment to HM Inspectorate of Constabulary for Scotland.
He said his new role would see him make sure every aspect of counter-terrorism policing was joined up, as Scotland’s police move towards a single force next year.
