Sending in the clowns for laughs at respite centre

Clown doctors were on hand to help a respite centre for children and young people celebrate its fifth anniversary.

Barnardo’s Scotland’s Caern House was founded after the Evening News helped raise £1 million.

Clown doctors visited and cheered up sick children at the centre, which helps youngsters with physical and learning disabilities, autism and complex care needs.

Minister for Public Health Michael Matheson said: “The service provided at Caern House is vitally important for the dozens of young people who have been to stay here. It gives these young people a chance to socialise and spend time with other children.”
