Seized explosives were Syria-bound

Italian authorities have seized seven tonnes of powerful RDX explosive being shipped from Iran to Syria, police said yesterday.

Anti-mafia police found the cargo, hidden in a consignment of powdered milk, in a container on a Liberian-registered ship that docked in Gioia Tauro in southern Italy last month and said it was enough to destroy the port.
