Secrets & Lives: Jason White

JASON White, 27, is the captain of the Scotland rugby team and plays for Sale Sharks in Stockport.

WHAT WAS YOUR NICKNAME WHEN GROWING UP?

My parents didn't really have a nickname for me but I got called Jase and Whitey, both at Cults Academy in Aberdeen and later when I moved to George Watson's College. I also get called Tam, because apparently that's what it looks like when I sign my name.

IF YOU COULD ONLY HAVE ONE DESSERT FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

It would have to be my mum's Christmas pudding. It's an old family recipe.

WHO IS THE MOST INFLUENTIAL PERSON IN YOUR LIFE?

If it's anyone it's my fiance Beverley because, on decisions that affect us as a couple, we always chat about what's best for both of us.

WHAT DO YOU KEEP UNDER YOUR BED?

At the moment I have a bed with drawers under it, so I suppose it's lots of boxer shorts and socks. I am quite tidy and don't have lots of rugby memorabilia in the house.

DO YOU SING IN THE SHOWER?

I don't actually. I'll sing along to anything on the radio, though.

ARE YOU RELIGIOUS?

No.

DO YOU REMEMBER YOUR FIRST DATE?

I suppose my first real date would be a trip to the cinema when I was in third year at school. I think we were together for a few weeks, which was a big thing.

IF I GAVE YOU AN ELEPHANT, WHERE WOULD YOU HIDE IT?

In my back garden, because it's the only place big enough.
