Earlier this week, detectives appealed for witnesses after a small white van was seen in the area at about 7:15am.

Now police would like to speak to the driver of another white van, which is believed to have been in the area between 7:30am and 7:40am. The driver is described as white, 30 to 45, with collar-length, curly brown hair.

Mr Taylor, originally from Aberdeen, was described as "deeply loved" by his family.

A statement said: "Anyone who knew Stewart will understand the indescribable loss we have suffered. He was deeply loved by his family and many friends, who have all been left completely devastated.

"We will remember him for his positive outlook in life and his desire to do the best in his career as a chef. This tragic loss will leave a huge hole in our family, but we will cherish the happy memories we have."

Frank Moore, 43, of Dalkeith, appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Wednesday, where he was charged with murdering Mr Taylor and the attempted murder of the woman.

Moore also faces a charge of breaching the peace. He made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.
